Thanks all for the comments! You particularly Matej, good to hear from you again.
My general preference is for slide film, Provia100 for natural colour reproduction. Some of my earlier macros were on print film for two reasons,... initially I used all the cheap print film I had lying around in order to get instant feedback by mini-lab processing (and not waste good slide film on rubbish). This was while I learned about the macro setup and experimented with different methods. My second reason was for colour richness in some flower shots I was trying at the same time, I was using Kodak Gold Ultra frequently, to see for myself this film's reproduction of strong warm colours.
I hadn't noticed that scratch mark, though now it's quite obvious! I'll fix it for future reference, thanks!

Not as dynamic as the hoverfly, but the sharpness looks very good and the 'behavioural' aspect makes it very interesting. A brief insight into a fly's life. Cool.
If I remember correctly, your previous insect macros were shot on Superia 400. Is there any particular reason why you changed the medium type and the speed as well?
There's a dust (or scratch) mark in the image below the fly's hindmost leg, perhaps you'll want to remove that (at least in the digital version if it's a scratch).
