Love the 3D effect!! Looks like it's created by the blurred leaves on the trees hovering over the extremely sharp and clear rocks and tree trunks. Maybe I'm hallucinating... Excellent pic!

Gorgeous scene, David! The long exposure on the water really gives a surreal effect to this shot. Nice combination of textures, the smoothness of the water, the moss and ice covered rocks and the wooded background combine nicely into a well done photo! Well done and thanks for your recent comments.

see dude, the upstream shot is really good too... you've bot too much talent...i definitely like the shot looking downstream better because of the originality like i said before. at the same time though, this shot is killer...

This is really a nice photograph. I've seen many pictures on this site and I've liked a lot of them. But, this one, WOW!!! I simply LOVE it. Just perfect.

Thanks for the great comments. Dave- I was at ISO 320 w/ no filters. The reason the exposure went so long is that the picture was taken after sunset w/ just a little available light trickling in.

The iced rocks (one with a trapped leaf) really sets this apart from the average brook picture. Combined with the green moss, the picture is perfect from a standpoint of variation in one photo. I can't believe it is a 9 second exposure. What ISO were you using?
