Another self portrait believe it or not :). I attended a class where we had to create self portraits without using ourselves. This was something I came up with, the shock of "becoming a woman" as it was quiet traumatizing for me. Borrowing Georgia O'Kieefe's ideas about flowers, I found a Phalaenopsis Aphrodite orchid, which I thought resembled the female form most closely. Then, borrowing a trick I learned from Alfred Hitchcock, I assembled the piece. My initial shots were done close up, "blood" oozing out of the orfice. After I was done, I picked up the orchid and accidentally dropped it. The blood splattered an I stopped right there and took the shot. Funny that this one turned out to be my favorite.
