Excellent portrait.Excellent picture.
Yes,Beagle chanel,Magalhães (this is his correct name,no the fake Magellan)path,Cape Horn, all those mytic names I was trhough wit a lot of emotion,in memory of so many that died there.
My picture could well be saturated and over sharp, this is my way,my trade mark,if you prefer , my own style. To photo-copy what faces me,any good camera and any monkey could do it...Of course you did the logical remark and I?m just saying why it is like that.
Regards
jorge

Of the very few portraits in your portfolio, this is definitely one of the best. Love the dof and yes, I'm going say it, I love the composition. Wonderful job, John.

Gorgeous image. The man is beautifully rendered despite the bright, harsh quality of the light. The facial expression conveys satisfaction of having a task completed, but also conveys possibly a hard life through the deep lines etched on his face. Nothing like a Leica lens to get it just right, huh?

Your name conjures up someone from 80 years ago who bore your name. A great writer and revolutionary. Any relation to you?
