i love the haphazard array of lights and their sparkling glints, some starry, some simply round and bright and the deep, deep night shadows of the street with the warm lights from stores and restaurants inviting me inside..Your composition is classic and well thought out and hugely effective. However, and forgive me for being provocative but to me this image is all about light and shadow and not about some Mercedes stealing the show. i think i would have cropped right above the hood adornment which would make the eye travel through the image along the diagonal provided by lights of the street scene and then up into the trees and back to the beginning of the street. That way of viewing the image wraps me in mystery and atmosphere. The grill of the Mercedes wants to keep my eye anchored there and and distracts me from traveling through the image freely. Hi Donna; you're right! This does look like a nice cheery evening, and it's also a very nice shot with lights filling the whole frame-- and a good exposure. I've got to get out and do some of these! A long time age I spent 2 weeks in San Luis Obispo-- at the college for a training session. Coastal Oregon is nice in that we don't have to shovel the rain;>) Cheers. Craig
