This is a very nice composition, and agree about the horizon not being level.

ALL : From your comments ( am I am thankful for them) I have realized that one has to think much more (about a lot of different things) than what I do before going into a Click-O_Rama mode firing the shots.
I am going to have to wait One Whole Year to redo these pictures! :( but I will :)

I really love the idea of the pof being the foreground and the background out of dof and being a landmark.. however:
The size/relationship of the building is fighting for dominance in the image and drawing attention away from the subject.. the flowers. This may have been your intention... but I think you may want to try this same image with a wider lens closer to the flowers and minimizing the background buildings more. Here is looks like the foregound pof (point of focus) is being used to frame the image, and not really supposed to BE the image.
Just my opinion! All the shots in this series are nice... I wanna see more!

I like the idea of the foreground in focus while the more known monument is out of focus......kind of a salable image of imagine a trip to washington to see the cherry blossoms.....The building is leaning......not a level horizon......nice idea

Nopes, I did not have a polarizer on my lens then. I will try screwing around with this image in PhotoShop though and see how it looks.

love this one sam, did you have a polarizer on it? if the sky were deeper in blue...it would contrast well with the memorial and cherries...

Great image. Makes me homesick for spring in Virginia. Just FYI ... locals refer to these as Cherry Blossoms.
