I really like the colors here... nice blue sky. I also like the composition with soft horizon. Good work, best regards, Alex
PS: thanks for your comment to my "White flower"... I was trying kind of "highkey", I didn't find any tutorials for that (with PS), so I just experimented (converting the pic to "grayscale", then changed the "brightness&contrast")... I'm sure there are other more professional ways to achieve the same (or better) effect... good luck! :-)

Hi Donna; thanks for uploading the "panoramic" version-- I do prefer it to the "big sky" look from a composition perspective, but a case can be made for either. The big sky really does give a sense of vastness. Like so much in life, there are no right or wrongs here-- just choices. Cheers. Craig

The large amount of blue sky here is two-sided, on one hand, it is alot of 'empty' space, but on the other hand, it really makes the picture, together with the title, since it really shows how small we all are. The little clouds on the horizon are really great, and the way the horizon curves is very nice too, very well seen! I do agree with Michaelle regarding the tractor.

Funny Craig, my original work on this image was as a panoramic shot as you suggest (I will try to attach). But then I got so taken with the idea of looking above or beyond barriers (both visually and figuratively) that I went back to closer to the original. As I said, this goes with Fence Line. Believe it or not, I did crop out some sky at the top. I will go back and try Michaele's idea. I love getting suggestions to help me find other ways of seeing, so thanks! By the way, I think one of the reasons I love clouds is that we don't get enough of them around here.

Hi Donna; your title suggests that you wanted all that big blue sky there, but personally I don't think I could have stopped myself from cropping a lot of it if I had taken this-- maybe turn it into sort of a panorama. But CA. is Big Sky country too-- just warmer than Montana. Also, cropping would give more emphasis to the line of small but interesting clouds in the distance-- hope I'm not being to pedantic here;>) Cheers. Craig

Donna, The contrast between the sky color here and the straw color of the foreground is wonderful... and the lines of the mountains and clouds in the background very complimentary to the composition. I like the little wisp of cloud at the top right frame, but for me it might make a stronger presentation if the image was cropped so that the tractor was not so central frame. Maybe an inch off of the right frame and 1/2 inch off of the top. That then sets the tractor on a diagonal with the mountains and clouds in the background and gives a little more tension to the image. Try it out and let me know what you think. Very well seen!
