Her eyes sort of establish the mood and the feel of the photograph. However it was done doesn't matter to me, just the end result, which is very original and outstanding.

Part of me is thinking "red rum! red rum!" but then again the impassive expression is ambiguous, so a little difficult to interpret. Steadfast, stoic, yet slightly vulnerable perhaps? Another quite different character study (and presentation) in your growing collection of imaginative portraits. (scrunch :) You've done a good job in extricating the girl from the original photo but perhaps a little broader feathering on the hair highlights to blend more gradually with the background shadows.

she looks like sophie from the BFG book, exactly like her infact, and the picture would suit the story so well!

i agree with Ana - there is an edge to your work that's out of this world - alot of fantasy.. reminds me a bit of children of the corn

"Only a novice who fiddles", ho ho!..:) Strong eerie image. Is that Lahser in the background (trying to remember those Detroit roads..;)? This really works well in B&W. Congrats..:)

:)

she is actually my bosses daughter..she is a very dramatic little 7 year old..
loves to be a ballerina!
:)

i think everyone is an interesting character...absolutely everyone..to me it is all in the eyes..that is how you know to like someone.
i like to catch someone right before they pose..and of course ps doesn't hurt when you are trying to get a feel across...
wish i could take em like that...
i am only a novice who fiddles..
thanks everyone and i hope all is well.

thanks again

Very penetrating eyes!
I've often been wondering where you find all the great characters of your last submissions.
A really fantastic shot, Sandy
