About The moment I was invited to my friends' wedding, I had this photo in mind. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out the way I had imagined, mostly due to hard-to-control elements. By the time I was able to find both the bride and groom, the party/dance had moved from a wonderfully lit hall with lots of human activity to the sparsely populated Plutonian darkness of the outdoors. I had to PS people in on the right side of the photograph and blur them in the same manner as the left for balance. I also converted the photo to b&w to avoid the orangey yellow skintones. I can't seem to view this photo without some frustration, but is it really all that bad?

Actual shutter time = 2 seconds.

I saw that heel too, and I think you're right. I have cropped it out. (That person must have been standing still amidst all the dancing . . . weird!)

Thanks Alisa, Deb and Kim for your help! :) I was going to give the groom a framed print when I saw him at work today, but he took the day off! *sighs*

Alisa had a great point... it really does look better with the only white as the bride and groom.
Still think this is a lovely wedding pic.. and a creative one at that. Now where were you for my wedding?? *grin*
Great job, Becky!

No, it's not all that bad - I like it a lot. Especially the way the people in the background are blurred and the happy couple are rock-solid; very nice contrast. :) Any chance we can see the burned version?

Burn tool! D'oh! I can't believe I didn't think of that! I felt the same way about the white shirt in the background, but I just toned down its brightness, which didn't quite do the job. I was going to print this off today and send it to the bride and groom, but now I think I'll work on it a bit more until I'm happier with it.

Thanks Alisa! :) :) :)
