About I was on break at work and decided to go to the top floor of the parking garage at the University of Arizona and was surprised to see it completely empty. So I went back later that night with my camera and took a bunch of night shots of this scene.

I like it...but most of the negatives seem to be too dense - too much white (once tones are reversed, of course). I will try the recipe again but with less dev. time, or maybe with that whole dilute/static dealie thing I read aboot. It really did help a lot with contrast, however! I was thinking the light on the edge of the sign would be blown out, but it wasn't:)

Oh hey, it looks like you got around to using the recipe. How do you like it?

John, this is very neat photo. I like it. You use Dimage Dual II. Wow, it is interesting to see we use the same type scanner, lens and camera.

John,
First off, thanks for your comment about the courhouse pic I took..I appreciate the advice..I am a novice photographer after all.

Anyways, I like this shot, it's cool. There are a bunch of places around my college campus that I could get, I'll have to give it a shot sometime..I like the night shots anyways. Good shot, looking forward to seeing more of your stuff.

thank you. haha, sue:)

daniel, i get the detail in my scans from my scanner...it is a dedicated negative/slide scanner (scans directly from the negatives and slides that i have, not an intermediate print) and has a resolution of 2870 or 2820 (can't remember ) dpi. it's not a high end scanner by any means, but it's certainly a step up from most flatbeds. it was about $430 for it and shipping...it's a Minolta Scan Dual II. it's not the best scanner by any means, but it does the job. and combined with the scanning program "Vuescan" (which can be purchased at www.hamrick.com) it performs quite admirably:)

Nice, clean shot, John. Never thought of a yield sign as 'object d'art', but this is very good.

Gee, maybe I should pay more attention to them when I drive...
:-D
