Definitely determined to attract!!! it's fascinating to see what Nature comes up with. I like the angle you chose for the shot. At the very top of the center "leaf" there is a distracting out of place color. Perhaps a little photoshop would make it disappear? take good care. Christiane http://www.coachchrissy.net/gallery/2004

Peggy, your framing is exactly right for this image. Although I agree with Marty's comment that softer light works better for flower macros, you managed to use the light to your advantage without getting those killer reflections on the waxy petals. I also agree that the center stamen could be sharper. If you were shooting outdoors, a tiny bit of wind can knock the whole flower out of the DOF.
Marty went a little over the top with his comments about my work. :), just keep shooting what you love and the images will be there!

Hi again :) what amazing colors here, composition is well handled also well done, wanted to leave you with a thought about flower photos, looking at the good ones, you see they are usually shot in a soft directional light, like the one of the young lady and the cute pooch, and whenever possable. have your background in the shade, keeps from bringing something distracting into the photo. look at Mary Sue haywards flower photos, and find the things you like about the photos, what makes them good, then start praticing what you see, Mary does a beautifuljob with Flowers, and I can tell how much you love shooting them also.

Great shot beautiful colors. I would have wanted to see the whatchamacallits in the middle sticking up to be in focus.

A nice macro of some wonderful colours. I love the bursts of red. I think the shadows are alright, but for some reason, they (the shadows) appear really green. It looks just a bit off next to the warmer yellows and reds, but that's just a minor nitpick. :-)

Such detail and color! I find myself wishing it were a bit less shadowy at the top, but really a good shot.
