Some places in Lisbon never changed. One of these places, the Santa Justa Elevador,is a romantic way to discover the city of Lisbon from high above the city. The elevator was designed by a student of Gustav Eiffel, Raoul Mesnier de Ponsard. It was put in service for the first time in 1902. Made entirely of cast iron, the work is a real pleasure for the eyes. It's a building that fits perfectly into the style of the period, even the ticket punch is no exception.
Thank you all for your comments, I think changing to better is good ... but who can decide what's right or wrong ...? Some changes are really, really good, other seem not to be very successfull, anyway the N of Never is in parenthesis, beacuse a ever changing country is also true, Portugal has changed a lot in time, hit by the multiple political changes and mainly by the 1974's revolution, and the entry in the EEC.
I hope Portuguese will always stay humble, friendly, funny, nice, loving to have fun with joy in their heart as I knew them, ready to share they memories, their stories and finaly their live toegether.
I hope all these changes will never change the portugueses hearts ! (and minds).
"A never changing Country" Is that good or bad Rui...as far as the pictures that I see here, its a very beautiful country,so your picture.Very nice camera angle by the way.Regards,HakaN.
