Deer Island lies one mile off the coast of New Brunswick, Canada and 1/2 mile from the coast of Maine, US. The tides here rise 27 feet every six hours and drop again. They water level is evident by the posts under the sheds. I was attracted by the reflections and the red shed and wanted to add depth to the phot so I included the close up post in the foreground. This gives the viewer an idea of what I was standing on when I took the picture.
I personally like the idea of the post in the foreground to emphasis the DOF. However, IMHO, I would of taken one step to the right (hopefully without falling into the water) and taken the shot so the post didnt block the bulding but rather was on the edge of the photo. However, you have a good eye... nice shot!
Wonderful light and I'm enjoying these seaside shots of yours. However, in this image, I don't think the post in the foreground contributes that much. Otherwise, well done.
