I came visiting because of your kind comment about my "Shrine" photo. I think this photo of yours may be almost as typical of Holland in Winter as my own photo was of Japan in the early Summer last year. I am not surprised by the white sky--we have a lot of those too, which is hard for people from sunny countries with blue skies to understand. Here, the red grasses in the center are a powerful anchor for our attention. Everything is sharply focused and clear, from the nearby grasses stiff with frost to the tree, with its strong, well-rendered texture. Indeed, all the textures are faithfully recorded. This is a very attractive photo, and looks like one of the Japanese "nafuda" playing cards. If you ever get to see a set, you will know what I mean... [grin]
