I don't know where you took this shot, but it surely is an amazing exoctic flower.
I have a shot of the same flower that I photographed in Western Australia just out in the nature. I've always wanted to know the name but you probably don't know it either. I am including it here, although the quality isn't as good as your photo.
I agree, it is a strange flower and you captured it superbly. But.... you're the king of flowers, so I'm not surprised. Excellent presentation too!
