If that rose were larger much larger than a normal rose, I'd love to fall asleep among those pedals. They look so soft!

Very sensuous, not that the title suggests it or anything! The lighting and deepr red tone are beautiful, and I think that the lens you wish for likely would not capture what you have here. Regards. -Tim
-And thank you for your comment on my Tomorrow's Thaw. I think you hit it there, we are now in the inbetweentime when you can feel the cold yet smell the thaw.

I'm drumming with my fingers and waiting for new photos from you! You haven't posted anything since before Christmas!! Have you started portrait course yet?

But till you feel ready with portraits, you could just go out and take ANY kind of photo from your beautiful country! I mean... YOU probably think it's boring with just a view from outside your house or something, but for people outside Australia that is soooo interesting!

Ps. I replied to you under "Frosty Bitch"! ;-)

Frankly, the thumbnail does not do this justice. I clicked on it expecting to see an out of focus red rose, but this is so much more. I believe that if this was shot with a "decent macro lens" it would lose its soul. It might be more technically correct, but the mood would suffer. There is just enough detail here to give the petals some definition but you've managed to capture the roses' essence with your lighting and cropping. And, this had to be red, it radiates passion and sensuality. This is very painterly, very Georgia O'Keeffe. Clever use of candle light. I love it.

This macro is looking great to me!!! Have you tried the close up filters?
Hoya makes a nice set(4+,2+,1+)-only run around $40....
You have a Canon too-I've got my eye on the MP-E 65mm macro lens-magnifies up to 5X.
except that it's only $810. sigh.

Very beautiful and almost matches my mood about the landscape of Australia. Particularly the outback although the landscape is much harsher than your beautiful rose. The photo I took was relatively near Hay( I say that having learnt that when Aussies say not far it could be 10km or 100km:-), north of Kerang (Which is on the Mighty Murrey)

Richard....an excellent image.....To me I see an abstract....the forms and shadows are wonderful....and of course the light source makes it all the cooler.

Oh, Richard, this is so beautiful! All the petals are so perfect the way they lay, and the strong blood red colour adds a kind of deep, sad, but romantic mood! You did a fantastic job!

Ps. A few days ago I sent you my email address, but I haven't recieved that photo from you. Did you not get my email, or did I not get your's, or haven't you sent yet?
