Hi Andrej : I agree with your comment, regarding this Photograph lack of sharpness, detracts from the beauty of the scene..........!!! Regards: Jeff.
Ps: your latest comment, The photograph in question!... is taken with a Digital Camera, and as you can see direct into the Sun, the Software setting of the camera, allows the optimum setting for the light condition....the Sun flare is a natural result of the lense and aperture blades......Thanks for your continued support to my Photographic efforts....Jeff!!!

From Andrej --I do not know...I just felt i had to leave a part of the wooden torch on the picture... Now when you find it distractive and croped it I think your croped version is very good too! Is there a rule where such elements are distractive and when they aren't? What made you think that I should croped it on this image? My answer. We scan a picture from the left like reading so if some sort of diagonal goes from the bottom left corner into the image to the focal point it produces impact. The eye is directed around the image. If the diagonal goes the other way (like the wood) the eye is directed out of the picture and maybe onto the next picture. By removing the wood the wall produces a diagonal leading to the rocks (the focal point). Then my eye catches the circular swirl of water, then the foreshore, around the coast, up the hill then back down to the start. I cropped a little off the sky to balance the image. Or put simply the left diagonal is a signpost pointing to the area of interest. Al least thats my opinion which may not be worth much. Regards, Graham. PS This might have been better on an E-mail but you don't have one up.

A lovely colourful scene with the sea and hill. I don't think the sharpness is a problem but I find the wood in the foreground directs the eye out of the image. I've tried a crop what do you think?

Mmmm... very beautiful! Not to unsharp for me, since I know it's scanned. The composition is very tasteful, and I just love these beautiful colour tones and light!

Hey Andrej, When you get your photo's on a CD they scan the prints. But it's all machinal so no finger prints or something like that. I have one tried to scan a negative, but that lookt very wierd, but I'am quit shore it's possible. Greets Tim.

I'am sorry I haven't been around lately to comment on your recent work. Anyway again an excellent landscape, you really have an eye for those kind of shots. As usual a pitty for the scanner. You know, when I bring my films away to devellop them I can also order a CD whit the photo's on them, it costs some money but comparing to a new scanner it's a cheap sollution. A Merry Christmas to you to (a bit late; sorry) and a Happy and photofull New Year.
