About I took this image yesterday in the Empire gold mine going down a shaft. I used just the lighting from the mine, shutter speed at 1 second, used unsharp mask and cropped; the rest is right out of the camera. This used to be a California gold mine.

Excellent picture. I've been in many mines, especially coal mines and I must say that your pictures evoke perfectly the feelings I had during those visits. This is especially so because you didn't use anything but the natural lighting. I enjoy your pictures very much and, like you say, they are therapeutic.
Superb job! Alex

well, natural light was the way to go...you have your tripod or rest the camera on something?...I think I would feel a bit claustrophobic...regards, Bill C.

Very interesting light. The way it looks there was not very much light to work with. Very nice. Don.

Feels real. Good one. I used to cut classes and get into the old silver mines in Cripple Creek when I was at school in Colorado. This brings back a sense of that. Good capture, Robert! And Happy New Year!
