About I struggled on whether to leave the color or go to a starker black and white. This was shot on a gray, snowy day in Victor, Colorado, in the heart of the gold mine region. Very hard to focus on photography when it is 5 degrees and the wind is blowing at 40 MPH.

Great composition with a sombre mood. I like the long grasses agaginst the paler background. The B&W works well here.
