Oh noooo, it was such a great and wonderful camera!!! :(( I'm very very sorry for that, if I still had mine, I would kindly give it to you, I hope that they can repair it, it has a lot of mechanical part and these are replaceable. In any case its splendid images will remain here, like this. Thanks for the explanations about your technique, I knew the DOF is limited, I was referring to the focused drops, but you are right, probably the various processes (scanning, resizing, uploading) reduce a bit the sharpness. I am sorry to hear that...I remember my first real camera - a Canon Rebel G I still have the body (the motor wore out). :) I hope you get a camera that you like soon. I like the effect of this - a brilliant path into the light...
