About This overwhelming Oak tree stood so many years- completely taking over the majesty of a once beautiful old Farmstead. The Home was abandoned almost entirely in the late 1950's Then vandals and mother natur, began their relentless destruction of a man made dwelling.
I was able to capture this image on medium format camera in 1987. Only a few weeks later the house and trees ( and the other structures not shown in this photo) were knocked down with bulldozers and a new home was built there as part of a suburban project. Someone's pride and joy gone completely and forever.

I wish the rating scale for "Emotional Appeal" went higher. You have wonderfully captured and conveyed the story here. My god, how much would you give to hear this tree tell the stories of this house? How many people swung from those branches? How many romantic episodes took place under its' shade? Great job, and thanks for such a memorable image. ...Brad

I love the scene. It is so sad to see this majestic tree and home in this dying state. Good photo work

Wonderful black and white shot. I love the angle you shot from. What a waste of a beautiful old home.
