the exposure was handheld for 4secs exposing for the background light, that caused the streaked lights, then i had an assistant off to the left fire a flash just before the shutter closed, which froze the subject in the position you see. The shadowed outline is caused by the shift of the lens/slight movement of the umbrella between the time of the shutter opening and the flash burst, thx

I, like the others, am dying to know how you did this. The effect of the background is so wild. This is one of the cooler portraits I've seen in quite a while. Great work.

Ver cool, dunno how you did it. A semi-transparent backdrop moving in a breeze? Heehee - Is there a glowstick in his pocket or is he just glad.......?
