About Arrete! C'est ici L'Empire de la Morte. (Stop! Here you enter the empire of the dead)

Taken on a recent trip to Europe. The Catacombs are old underground stone quarries that hold 200 year-old skeletons of several million people. In 1786 they were exhumed from Cimetiere des Innocents to make space for more people. The macabre walk through the underground corridors takes about 45 minutes. Out of respect no flash photography is allowed.
