About Moody and medieval, for me, this pre dawn shot of the castle captures its powerful presence in a bleak, hostile setting amid the Welsh countryside. The long exposure has caught the passage of a body of cloud which offers a contrast to the harsh outline of this rock fortress.

Welcome back, Alex. I had almost forgotten I selected you as a "friend." Nice to see another good image from you after so long. May I commend the panoramic format (an aspect ratio or 1:2.5 or 1:3) when there is no detail in the foreground? It is a way of moving the centre of gravity of the picture up, and into the sky behind the castle, and of giving the castle itself more prominence. The very long time exposure seems to have worked against you in the sky, though, as the cloud that raced across the sky has smeared itself out into a featureless band. I hear what you say about the contrast, but it doesn't quite work for me. Wonder what it looked like 20 or 30 minutes later? Look forward to more posts from you. You'll see I've been quite busy over the last three months or so...

You can see the lines of the castle and the sky is wonderfull colourd. But it is way too dark. It is one big black hole, way underlight. The castle would be perfect a bit lighter. The sky is already very good wonderfull blue colours. But really there is not enough light.
