Good clean macro, Natalie. Maybe try a different camera angle...the strings running almost vertically up the middle of the frame are a little static. Pretty nasty flare center right.

you will enjoy your 300D but what I have found and you asked how did I get the light, you buy the best lens you can afford. The 70-200F4 is a great lens and the 17-40F4 is also terrific you have most things covered with those maybe if you can only afford one look at the 28-135 a really good all purpose lens....here are a couple of pages you may find interesting, dpreview has lots of forums you can find anything out about photography and equipment. The other one is very helpful for the 300D...roger
