Putting you D100 to good use, I see. How does it compare to the Petri? Just kidding. There is noce lighting on this. I would crop this at the top a little, taking out the distracting horizontal bands and hiding the fact that the horizon is tilted a little.

Nice shot. Since the subject is the bird, I think it would help the composition by cropping some off the top. Also, if you use an image editing program, it would be nice to use levels and saturation to bring out the detail and tones in the wood and the bird.
The setting sun cast a lovely soft, golden glow on your scene.
