I like this one a lot Rawabi. Love the colours and lighting. Great composition. I prefer this one to the frontal one I have to say.
I wouldn't change this one!

Anyway your hot colors are very pleasant, and I like the DOF, too. Beutiful, at all. Congrats, Carmem

hi rawabi, i like the way you look at this flower .. but i don't really like the very dark shadow here .. the lighting in general is good and exposure is ok .. it's only this dig heavy shadow!
keep it up. ned

You really should not think that you "fail with flowers" - this is a wonderful shot. If you are looking for a creative direction I think it helps to find symbolic value, especially in still lifes. It can be shape (hummingbird here :-) or just a feeling - perhaps the suggestion of being face down in this photo.

Stefan thanks for your comment.. you made me really think about what u said here.. maybe the reason I kinda fail with flowers usually is cuz I think about it in a very technical way, instead I should go with my gutts and feelings.. I mean I never thought about the symbol of this shot!!! I just focused on having the right DOF and focusing on the texture..! thanks a LOT for the tip :)

I like this quite a bit and I think it could be representative of many symbolic values. The question I like to ask you is what you are wanting to convey with the image? What were your intentions (if any)? Including the corner in the background is an unusual move to me and here I think it worked out well. I think the patterend surface the flower rests on is a bit distracting.

Se me ocurre que es una manera inusual de presentar una flor. Pero el resultado es enigmatico y atractivo a la vez: esteticamente bello aunque sugiera un amor despechado

thanx Antonio, Amna & Hanna.. actually I donno what kind of flower it is! I picked it up from college on the way home.. it has a very velvety texture.. here's a frontal view: Hanna, this IS macro.. I guess I need to start buying more powerful lenses soon :-D

I like it... as Amna put it, looks like a dress with a big skirt... you might want to play with different angles.... try a macro, it has a very nice velvelty texture... the color is very nice... that thing on the table also looks good, may want to include that one in the close-up.
