i too like this composition very much. keith may have a point but i think it works this way as well. in order to get the all the reeds in the frame it would've been best to shoot this in landscape (is that the correct photo term?). however, that would've produced something wholly different. excellent exposure, colors, and dof. although i feel you should bring your tripod along next time and avoid having to lie on your stomach on that very cold looking ground ;^) well done!

Hi Ellen, althouth I think Keith has a point, I still think this is an exceptional good shot. Very subtle lighting and beautiful colours. The razor sharp details and the Depth of Field is outstanding. Very, Very impressive, my compliments!

A very beautiful shot, the colours are nicely muted and the composition well thought out. Its a shame the one reed/grass stalk exits the frame on the right. If the tip had remained in frame it would have been a stronger composition.
