About Practicing my dof picture taking I took this brake disc on my buddies motorcycle. I really liked the blue and silver together. How'd I do for dof?

Hi Andy, Apart from the DOF, I'll get to that later, I like the sharpness of the field of focus. The details (even the machining of the metal is visible!) Great shot.

I like the Depth of Field, the fuzzy parts are still recognisable, but I think it would benefit the compsition as well as the subject, if there would have been less sharpness in the lowerhalf of the photo, and if the sharp area would not only include the aluminum part, but also some of the blue housing. In other words, I think I would've chosen a different angle, more form the side, in order to get the various parts (partially) into focus, in stead of only the aluminum one.

Still a very intriguing detail, excellently composed, and very dynamic. Well done!

Cheers,

Hugo
