Thank you very much David, she is very beautiful and photogenic, which is why I asked her and her brother to be my models. I feel my lense let me down here as the DOF even at that zoom and F stop is so deep. I tried and tried to blur that background, even at F2 wasn't much better.

It's a nice shot. The framing and the work with the model are good. I find the background very distracting. Perhaps if your DoF were tighter so this background were more out of focus (or just choose a different background)--though I do like the tones present in the background and how those help to bring out the subject.

Yes the workshop was great. I was very dissapointed in the sharpness of the background in this shot. I was trying to find out about DOF with portraits, but even using F2.0 the back ground was still so clear, so frustrating, they just told me the asperical lense in my camera was too good. Believe it or not the background was about 8-10 metres away from her, and I was using zoom full zoom.
