oh I saw the thumbnail didn't even read the title and was thinking oh she looks like she's not feeling well. poor little one. this is such an excellent shot. very touching. we all know this to well in our children.

Pat, I admire that you've seen this situation as a photo opportunity. My wife would freak if I tried this! The watery eyes and the lack of energy are familiar to any parent, having had a child in hospital recently I know just how quickly they bounce back!
We should draw more inspiration from our children, and you certainly provide that in your photography. Well done, and hope she got better quickly. Ian

This is sad but wonderful at the same time . . . when my daughter is feverish, I also tell her to remember how amazing it feels to get better, and to look forward to that moment when she knows she is done with it . . . this one looks as if she's imagining that day as well. Beautiful portrait of a very human moment.
