Hi Lori, the exact name is Hardenbergia violacea. It comes originally from Australia.
The DOF effect is magnificent, the same as the beautiful brown toned background. Beautiful colors. Thanks for your comment on my Ludwigia sedioides. In fact it is a water plant and in diameter at most 1cm small. Best regards, Brigitte.

Hi Lori, Very nice. I like the combination of the colours and the out of focus brownish background. Thanks for your comment, with regard to "cutting out the wrong layer", that shouldn't make any difference - just draw the mask and then choose the layer you want! This works as well. Hi Lori, Can't help you with the name... but I do like this floral (That must mean something, knowing how I feel about most of them... ). The depth of field is excellent, making the flowers seem to pop through my screen. I like the background colour, not too much complementary colours, but a subtle and soft tone. The lighting is a bit even, though. Nice shot!
