I see why "That's a Wrap" reminded you of this one of yours, Gayle. Thanks for sending me to take a look! What is it about rope that is so intriqueing? Lots of textures, I guess. I sure like what you did with the dof in this one!

Not sure what prompted such an articulate critique,but was interesting to read...for me the rope pic was all about the varied textures/tones and how the sunlight fell on it...usefilm is now featuring "creative/thoughtful critiques"and you get your pics shown on whatever page that shows up on now...thanks for comment! Are they (the ropes) grabbing the wood? Or...is the wood binding (connecting) the ropes? Very nice shot. Taken from an optimistic or pessimistic viewpoint, either condition works. The pessimist would say, "The ropes are devouring the wood, symbolizing the attacking, aggressive nature of life." While the optimist would say, "The ropes are connecting with the wood, building a bridge, connecting with the other side." What did you have in mind when you shot this? When you posted it? Were your thoughts running this deep? For me personally....neither position makes much sense...I just love the look of the rope with fraying strands, and the wood, twisted and helpless in the midst.
(Is that the kind of critique you are looking for? I can be serious when need be.... ;) )
