the first thing i noticed with this picture was the angel or fairy wing-like shape that the branch behind the squirrel makes. it's a perfect outline, and the shape of the tail fills it in with like brush strokes in a painting. i love the composition, too, the trees frame the image great. i love it!

I did the same thing with my Evening toilette, the weather was cloudy and late afternoon, and I put ISO 100, but still dark.. so that is the problem with all digital - You are right.
I do the adjustment also in PS.

Hi Bibi! I think most digital cameras are like that, or am I wrong? I usually raise the contrast manually, or adjust with "levels" in photoshop. This one though is a bit problematic, because light was really bad and I refused using flash so I under exposed it 2 steps instead. I could maybe have tried with higher ISO, but then colours look so ugly and it just gets grainy.

But tell me why it is darker, like having something over the whole photograph. like a darker veil ?? I have noticed it also with my photographs. Is it the Canon Serie PS G.??? Like it need more contrast?? same with my photo, by daylight, almost same aperture and speed as yours, and it is darker, maybe lack of light???

Fantastic shot. May be you know how dificult to take this in Hungary. We have only very few chipmunks here.
I think it is perfect composition with its catch on the left side. I think the left tree was much farther in the forest. The Tele made it closer. The DOF is excellent according to this. I really like it.
