The converter I use is the Adobe Camera Raw plugin that comes with Photoshop CS. But, there is another very good one that can be used as a stand-alone RAW converter. It is made by Camera One and is called C1 Raw. They have different versions depending on your needs. They have a version for the Canon Digital Rebel (300D) that is only $50, but it only works with the Rebel. http://www.c1dslr.com/ Lou

I use a Canon 300D. I shoot in Raw mode and convert using the raw converter that comes with Photoshop CS. I have also used C1, too, but have settled on the Photoshop converter. Original image pixel dimensions are 3072 X 2048.

Thanks for the compliment. I usually size my images so they measure 800 pixels on the longest side, then save as JPG, usually at 8 or above, depending on the image. I try to keep the file size below about 250KB. I am careful about not oversharpening, (sometimes I overdo it) and will often sharpen just those parts of the image that require it locally.
