Yes this was my disappointing sky. I think since then I've got the notion the camera does lie about such things and it is o.k. to use photo shop to marry contrasting light siuations together. Definitely the situation had sunshine and menace in reality and someday I'll take advice and start bringing out the dark clouds that were there with p.s.

Such is life, Ian. Made to order weather is still far off in the future. That's if we have a future.

This photograph has tremendous balance. All of the components work together, and that milky water provides the question mark! Thank you for your recent comment; you have a great sense of humor!

Hi Ian,the scene is indeed wonderful. I gather you complain that none of the drama is captured. IMO that has little to do with the use of tripod. That's maybe the angle of light. Big shadows on one side versus a diffused brightness on the other. A very difficult situation to handle and eventually you should have chosen another shooting position. Maybe it could be improved by removing the blue cast of the clouds and make them more greysh ( select them, boost the contrast, level up the brightness, remove the blue cast, darken the whole. ) Also by balancing the shadows on the left. Unfortunately I'm not a PS wizard, but I hope it helps a little bit ) Many congrats anyway because it's beautiful even the way it is! Antonella
