Hi Carmen,

"Thank you again for wasting your precious time with this beginner photographer.".... You should give yourself more credit than that! Your photos are as good as any others, and we are all here to learn from eachother..... Thanks for the explanation, very useful, and (again) I think you did a very good job!

Cheers,

Hugo

Hugo, your comments are very special to me... I learn a lot with them and you really pay attention to every detail in our work.

You are right: the stakes are distracting...I hadn?t noticed them...but, when I saw the miniature...I said "what is this?"

Indeed, the original shot was overexposed.. I got this colorful environment with PS tools (curves, burn and gradient). I?d have discarded this image.... but my friend Márcio Costa (who has tried this shot with his Olympus 5050) asked me not to do that because of the effect on the waterfall. It was a rainy day, a lot of water around.. and my "poor" Canon had worked a little better than his camera did.

Thank you again for wasting your precious time with this beginner photographer. I really appreciated it a lot!
Greets,
Nice week,
Carmem

Very powerful shot, Carmen! The two stakes in the foreground are a bit distracting from the fierce roar of the thundering water. Beautiful scene, but why the +1/3 EV setting? I think, looking at this image, it might not have been necessary; the details of the waterfall seem to be slightly washed out, which is a pitty, as it is the prime subject of the shot..

Cheers,

Hugo

PS': I'll be more faithful in my comments next week....;o)
