Sorry it has taken me so long to say so little. no I dont know who took this photo- many of the photos I have from this period are on postcards.
I also have his last two letters from the front which make for very emotive reading.

Even a pretty old photo for sure, as a portrait looks very nice with very good lighting supoport even at his shadows part of the face!

I like old images. You could use some cloning with the healing brush to take out some of those specks of white and black. Pretty good restore lets see some more. My youngest son is in Iraq right now and we are worried about him.
