I wanted to show the details on this critter and with nothing but water and a duck...it looks like a bird book illustration which it pretty much is. Nuthin' special.

Nice and sharp, great detail. But esthetically, it lacks something...placement within the frame seems too central and static to me. Perhaps too tight a crop?? Colours and light are spectacular.

I agree that the photo is technicaly speaking very good, but the horizontal composition dominant subject are very static.

Yes I do think it is fashionable.
Excellent detail, colors and lighting.
The reflections in the smooth water are great.
I find the darkness of the eyes of subject like this very hard to capture, I either get a well exposed eye and then the rest of the image is blown out, or I get a well exposed body and a eye that only blends into the head and has no highlights at all.
The spot of lighting seen in this eye separates it from blending into the dark area around it.
Very good capture.
