Thanks for your kind comment,Ken. Selecting a sky is not quite as easy as it sounds, particularly when there are things like trees obscuring parts of it. If it's a more-or-less monochrome sky, edged in by straight-sided walls or roofs, then no problem ~ you select the magic wand tool, set the tolerance to around 20, tick the contiguous box, then click on the sky. That should select it. Then you can hit erase to lose it, or cover it with a mask, before dropping in the new sky behind it. But, really, it's something you need a book, or a magazine like 'Digital Photo' to explain. Much as I'd like to help, I just haven't got enough hours in the day to post detailed answers.

Thats a beauty, Chris. I am sure the sky is a replaced one.
Could you please write to me about how you go about replacing a sky. I tried but I am not able to select the forground as clearly as you could do. I wonder what tecnique you use. Regards, ken.

Hi Chris,
This is a real nice shot, the position of the clouds really complement the tree and the colours are good too.
I like what you have done with the framing, and just might try this myself one of these days. Well done!.

Thanks, Karen ~ it's always good to hear from you. have a great trip ~ I look forward to seeing some good shots on your return. Kind regards, Chris. P.S. If you see some good skies, just bag 'em, then drop in with Photoshop, or similar, on shots where the sky is bland.

Thanks for the comment, Ohad. No, I didn't use a polarizer. I find that when I do my pictures aren't quite as sharp? But I did up the saturation a little in Photoshop. Regards, Chris
