About With a severe case of macro envy, I looked out my old but hardly ever used Nikon 910 and took some closeups of flowers. Not as easy as I thought. I also forgot that the default was "Normal" (= "poor") quality, so this picture won't go much bigger than Usefilm's 800 pixels. Nice flowers, though... I also rather like that cheeky yellow flower poking its head into the corner of the frame.

Hi Roger! Its a flower avalanche! Ah to be buried in aromatic blossoms. The yellow should go. I do like the pot texture and there is another image lurking in there somewhere!
Cheers - JB

Nice traditional flower photo, however, a tighter crop might make a better shot with all focus on the middle flowers

I found the yellow flower pulled my eye away.

Beautiful.... I think they are a nice mix of several flowers and I love the pink ones of course... Very nice....indeed!!! I think that the little pansy poking its little face in there is cute as well...its just in the shot... makes the space of it all look larger than it is I think.

Hi Roger, before I read Hugo's crit, I was already formulating what I was going to say, and most of it hinged around the yellw flower. Hugo says distracting, I say the whole pot should have been moved out of frame, and the little dabs of orange in the top right also need to be sorted. Don't get me wrong the composition is good as is the detail, but the little things count for a lot. Hope you don't mind me being do critical.

Hi Roger, I think the yellow flower is a bit distracting. It diverts the attention and splits the image, as it inserts a new (and IMHO redundant) subject. Other than that, the diagonal composition is good, as is the level of detail. Possibly the fresh colours might've stood out more if the lighting had been more intense, but I'm afraid that's even beyond your control....;o)

Cheers,

Hugo
