"Lyricism" in painting I do not understand as being a distinctive form. Too many labels! Too many categories. Now titles are made by academics [pedagogues].........too pedantic!! The "abstract lyric" paintings I see are just abstracts with soft colors. Maybe all paintings should be labeled only by date and geography!!!! :):)
The same thing happens to poetry. In the US there are no more Pounds, Wallace Stevens, etc..............now poets are school teachers working for government wages, teaching "creative writing" to incompetent and disinterested students. And school teachers are slaves to titles and labels. We have lots of "schools" and "movements" in poetry, and lots of academic poetry magazines/publications, and lots of government subsidized public readings of poetry................but we have no good poetry! The best poets are now probably the modern Italians.
Ana, just keep making pictures and let the munchkins worry about what to call them. :):)
