About This is my first "studio" shot :-) and I know there are a lot of mistakes. This is also my first framed image and I see that I should have left a smaller "border" of background on the left side of the image. I used ordinary art paper and the grains are showing up - any tips on what kind of paper to use? This was taken in natural light. Please help with tips, comments and critique. Thanks.

Hi Micky,
The bud is attached to the stem of the open flower so there is no way I can turn it to face the flower. I suppose I could cut it off and glue it the other way around :-))))))))
Thanks for your comment Micky, much much appreciated!

Hi Linn,Wow your first studio shot! its perfect, you have handled the light so well, the detail is amazing, the only little thing I would have thought about would be to turn the bud towards the flower,I feel it takes your eye away and out of the frame. That is just IMHO it is gorgeous anyway.
Regards Micky.

Good Morning Debra
What a compliment! No, we are not professional photographers, we are only professional amateur photographers :-) Our taste differ greatly - Robert has an eye for the weird and complicated, whereas I am simply attracted by the beauty (as I see it) of the object. Good thing though, because otherwise we would be fighting over the same pink flower! <LOL)
Thank you for your support and comments :-)

Fantastic composition, I love it! You write that you should have left less space on left side, but I don't think so, I think the composition is really so perfect like this! The bottom big petal might be a little bit over exposed, but overall it's really super!
