Hi John. Thanks for your comment, it means I've been able to look at your work. Marvellous portfolio! I enjoy this seascape especially. Great mood. Good timing & shutter speed. Excellent toning ... regards J. (nice to meet another Kiwi here)

Beautiful, John! I wouldn't change anything here, you've nailed the composition, moody tone, color, and the strange object out in the ocean (a rock? a boat?) adds a nice element of the unknown. I also agree with Chris about usefilm speed and ratings. The latter in particular seems meaningless. I see 7s randomly applied to decent but not great images, and others, such as this one which to me is excellent work has a 5.9 (as of this post). The comments should support the rating if nothing else. Anyway, very good work. Tim

I'm with you on this, John. I'm on what we call 'broadband' now, and it's generally really fast, but Usefilm has slowed to a snail's pace! I'm also very disillusioned with the whole idea of ratings. They seem so arbitrary and, sometimes, totally silly ~ witness some of the shots that get 100% '7' ratings. I mean, how many perfect shots are there around?! So I've decided just to comment and, as far as possible, to be honest and objective as well as, hopefully, encouraging! Kind regards, Chris

Thanks Chris. I don't believe the views. It had about 100 2 minutes after I posted it. I think the site has a few problems. For the last week I have found it painfully slow downloading images, so slow i has taken the enjoyment out of looking at peoples work. Regards John

John, I'm astonished that this shot has had 114 views and only 1 person has taken the time to leave a comment!!! It's a wonderful moody photograph of great quality/ An unusual land and seascape, with great textures and colours. Good work! Kind regards, Chris
