Wild flowers are definitely my favourite, particularly when they are so tiny and delicate like these ones and have vivid colors.

You asked about the 10d, I like it very much. Being new to potography, there was a pretty steep learning curve. Also there is more processing required than with a point and shot.
I think right now this is the best DSLR for the price. I enjoy taking pictures with it very much.
