Thank you Alison for your considerations regarding my work. One reason I put my entire book online is because many people cannot afford to buy either a hard or soft cover, and with it online, all can read it. I hope you might take advantage of this, and read some of the text, which I find at times, inspiring. Best wishes again or the holidays. Respectfully,
Gary

I went back and looked at the photos, they are all great. You do very beautiful work. I also love, not that I can afford them, the books you have put together. Alison

Alison,
thank you for your comments.
I made a series of photogravure's (etched copper plates that are used in printing) for a portfolio series visible on my website under 'purchase'
that were made in Ashuelot NH...up the road from Stamford on the Amtrak. Loot at purchase/we walk in beauty. This image is one of them.

Lovely train rider, the Vermonter' that is.
Best wishes during the holidays...

I don't know a lot about Platinum photography but I do know it takes a long time and is quite exspensive to do. This one is gorgeous, it has the feeling of an old time photo. I love his proud stance and the wonderful lines and depth of the background. Alison

This is a grand portrait. His stance shows his confidence and inner strength. I am not familiar with the Platinum process, but I do appreciate the result. The details on his clothes are great.

Maja,

Thank you for taking a look at some of my work. This gentlemen is Lakota Souix...(Dances with Wolves) and believes in oral history. If you read his interview in my book at:
www.WeWalkinBeauty.com
you will be surprised at his wisdom.

Best to you,
Gary

THank you very much, Gary. Wise words from Bob Red Elk- good to read and think about.

Annemette,

I photographed this with an 11x14 view camera and printed it with platinum metal salts. I have also reproduced it in photogravure. Bob Red Elk is Lakota Sioux, and only believes in oral history. To read his answers to five questions in my book 'We Walk in Beauty' is enlightening.

A serious soul linked to history and nature in such a proud way. Another stunning portrait. I wish I knew how to make this.
Be well

Gary,
Nice picture! I love the background surrounding your subject. Your subject has so much beautiful detail that I would suggest moving in closer. Prehapes use of a telefoto might do the trick. Really a great picture! jwm
