A Gel Candle is kind of like Jello that burns. It is soft and wiggley but burns as a candle does. This one here had flowers put into it while it was in liquid form. As the flowers were put into the hot liquid, air escaped to the top but the gel set before the bubbles could make it out. There was no movement in this shot the bubbles are suspended in the transparent gel, allowing me to shoot it in lower light with a slow shutter. The macro/crop creates the illusion of movement.

Neat shot, Andy. How did you capture water bubbles in stop action with a 1 sec exposure (unless those aren't water bubbles)?

That's GREAT!! You must have used seltzer or something for it to bubble like that!
I would have never thought of this....pretty GOOD! You mind if I try this sometime? LOL

Thanks for the show and tell!
Lori :)

I top lit this Gel Candle with a soft light bulb and used a table tripod at about 3 inches.
