I'm also an admirer of trees. If there was ever something benevolent from nature, trees are one of them. Your photographic quality on this one is superb. And it's always a pleasure to see that this was made with a Minolta, and a classic one at that.
I hope to be the first now! ;) I like old trees, I have a lot of shots of them, but this is special for the very beautiful texture and the dramatic mood, the choice of B&W is excellent, only I would have liked to see more contrast, but this is just a personal taste. BTW the simple PS desaturation isn?t the best way to convert from colors to B&W, personally I use ACDSee Fotocanvas for this job, but there are many programs you can easily find in Internet for this purpose.
