About We came upon this dead eagle while hiking near our home. We called DNR and had to return him to a Federal Wildlife agent the next day so we are documenting him here. The eagle was sent to a raptor repository in Colorado where they determined he died of natural causes, probably from fighting. The feathers were then given to Native American tribes for ceremonial purposes.
