About So here we go on our walk around Stourhead. There are various ways we could go, but we start by approaching the big house, which is open to the public and contains a real treasure trove of antique furniture as well as a fabulous art gallery!!

P.S. MY DEAR U.F. FRIENDS MAY BE INTERESTED TO KNOW THAT ONE OF MY PICTURES HAS BEEN CHOSEN AS KODAK'S PICTURE OF THE DAY AND WILL BE ON THE KODAK.COM HOME PAGE ON FRIDAY, 14TH MAY!!

Feels a little closed in, the right hand side needs to open out in order to balance the expanse of pink. Just a thought

Those flowers are so beautiful, and the building too! But somehow the composition feels split too much in middle... or? It's like if my eyes pop from left to right to left to right, and it's more like looking at two photos.

Or what do you think? Am I to critical? Naaah... I know you like honest comments, and you also know I'm following your photos with big interest because I like them so much!

Great image Chris,
I'm a great admirer of your work...Congratulations on your recognition.
Could you detail a little of the post work that you put into your images?
This one, for instance, looks like it was shot at the height of the day. My eye is drawn to the sky in this photo because of its' color and texture. I've shot photos in a similar setting and while my eye sees the colors and texture, as soon as I put the camera to it, thinking of DOF and managing the shutter, I still get a blown out sky and heavily shadowed foreground.
Is there a lot of post work being made, or are you just gifted?

Hi Chris, Congratulations! That's quite an honour, and I completely agree with Kodak's selection. Didn't know you could enter images there, especially made with a competitors' camera...;o)

Great shot. I'm always fond of highly saturated images, and this is fantastic. Perfect DOF and composition. Nothing to bicker about, and a top notch photo....

Cheers,

Hugo

Thanks Roger!
I got th idea from Tomo Radovanovic, who had one of his portraits as Kodak P.O.T.D.
So I went on their site, and uploaded a shot that had done well for me both on UF and photo.net. Fortunately, they liked it!
The UF url is: http://www.usefilm.com/image/214030.html, but you've already commented.
Kind regards, Chris

Congratulations on Kodak POD, Chris! Did you enter a photo at the Kodak site? Or did they approach you to let them use one displayed elsewhere? I think you ought to post a copy on Usefilm once Kodak have had their day, so that we can all see and admire it.
